The Cavalier - Egg and Soldiers

Listed as one of the best private and top 100 restaurants in San Francisco, The Cavalier is opened at Hotel Zetta at 5th and Mission street. This all day British gastro pub, nominated with 3 stars, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch at the weekend. True to its name, it has an English concept, vintage feel, bistro like design with extremely intimate environment. Their richly designed menu covers light starters, fresh oysters, hearty egg dishes and some British food classics such as fish & chips and shepherd’s pie. Some highly anticipated desserts are also offered together with cocktails and wines at their very cool bar.
Seating at this glamorous dining room, I'm thankfully pleased with the professional services. I have got myself two baked oysters and a light egg dish.
The juicy oyster is baked with bone marrow and an excellent layer of breadcrumbs. It is also served atop horseradish cream that has added a notable heat.
Followed by a signature hen egg hollandaise, which is served in an egg holder along with ham & cheese finger sandwiches, namely soldiers. No doubt that this dish is a top notch especially when the hollandaise dip is made to the perfect tanginess.
Those soldiers are also excellent, made with butter toast, thin sliced parma ham and gooey cheese. This combination is to die for!
If you are wanting some British classic in San Francisco, The Cavalier is surely a great choice.
