Angelines Louisiana Kitchen - True Flavors of New Orleans

Literally, Angeline’s Chef has brought classic flavors of New Orleans down at downtown Berkeley! Vintage decor, great music contributing to the loud but classy ambience at the pub bar, this casual eatery is a popular neighborhood restaurant at East Bay where serves savories like gumbo, fried chickens and jambalaya to sweet beignets and flourless chocolate cake mounted with whipped cream.
We are settled at the bar table since we don’t bother another 20 minutes wait. The food varieties on their menu are quite repetitive between starters and entrees, which technically is just a difference between the size or combination with rice or side dishes.
Favourite is definitely the baby back ribs that are deliciously packed full of flavor. Slathered over their house made barbecue sauce, the fall of bone rib is incredibly tender and sauced to perfection. 
Another great dish to try is an entree of fried catfish. It is not the silky fried fish we wanted to try but the hush puppies that come alongside.
These tennis ball sized hushpuppies are basically fried cornmeal fritters. When serve, dip them in bomb honey butter and you'll be amazed by how crispy they are despite the super dense and heavy portion.
After all, reservations are highly recommended, otherwise if you walk in, be prepared for a 15 to 20 minute wait!
