坤記煲仔小菜 - A Night of Claypot

Winter is the perfect timing for some Hong Kong style clay pot rice! This restaurant, famous for clay pot dishes Kwun Kee, is so often to be full of crazy crowd no matter it is on weekdays or weekend.
The fish head is lightly batter fried and then braised in a dark soy based sauce with sliced ginger and spring onions / scallions. Having to serve in a pot, the tender flesh and crispy bones are absolutely scrumptious! The eel, silky and succulent, is marinated with Chinese fermented black soybean paste and cooked over the clay pot rice. A very popular choice around. Don't forget to scrape down those burnt rice sticking around the pot! With that slightly sweetened soy sauce, which is expected to be made especially for clay pot rice, has dressed the spareribs and Chinese sausages rice pretty amazing!
Do expect to wait long for your clay pot next time!
