Mazazu Crepe - Strawberry! Caramel! Custard!

This crepe doesn't sound "French" at all. More on their Japanese style, with a little "Mother's love" I guess? The crepe has a moist, fluffy and chewy texture, but I wonder why is it cold even it is made right after ordering. The custard filling is to die for, so as the sweet caramel syrup that pairs amazingly with the slightly tart strawberries. Custard! Caramel! Strawberry! How can they go wrong?

Fujiyama Go Go 55 富士山55 - Tsukemen Keep It Hot!

I really appreciate the serving idea of Fujiyama 55. They keep your Tsukemen broth over an induction cooker, which helps to prevent the broth from dropping temperature, just like my earlier experience at Mita Seimen Jo. The Sakura shrimp broth is a little too thin for me but still good enough to go with the medium-cut noodle. I would prefer the pork bone based dipping noodle that has thicker size noodle and the broth has a deeper flavor. The Char Siu is alright, not too tough and a bit fatty. All in all, the ramen egg is very well excelled with soft exterior and creamy eggy yolk in the middle.

Shung Hing Chiu Chow Restaurant 尚興潮州飯店 - Oldie Teochew

This is an old Chiu Chow restaurant with long history since my most latest visit is in 10 years ago. The service is expected and acceptably straight forward, fast but unfriendly. Goose meat and wings are submerged for long in their superb house made soy sauce, with a bed of tofu soaking it up underneath. We have the pig tripes pepper soup which could be more spicier. The steamed fish served cold with salty soy bean dip is so simple yet full of omega oil. The typical oyster omelette is well excelled with crispy edges and fatty baby oysters. Best serve with a dash of black pepper and fish sauce.

Ma Suya 塩屋 - House of Salt

Last but not the least, our Taipei trip ends with this sweet and salty combination of creamy, milky, smooth soft serve ice cream in a crispy waffle cone. Hmm!!! It can be creamier and less icy though.

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 - Best XLB

No doubt that the best xiao long bao in Taipei is of course at Din Tai Fung. The service here at Taipei is so much friendlier, efficient and nicer than that in Hong Kong. Here are our orders and the taro xlb dessert is probably my first favourite sweet xlb.

Cold Stone Creamery - Unexpectedly Sweet

Cold Stone is not Taiwan based, and technically is more in American style. Their ice creams are tossed with tremendous toppings and serve usually in the signature waffle cup. I find a very interesting flavor at Taipei store, Tie Guan Yin, a kind of Chinese tea. Nevertheless, it is still too sweet to my liking and the tea flavor should be more pronounced. Another founder's favourite with brownies, walnut, chocolate and caramel syrup is globally the all time favourites.

Tresors de la mer 煮海 - AAD

The Addiction Aquatic Development (AAD), is a recent popular place among Taiwan travellers. It is located at Taipei's Fish Market, where they sell fresh seafoods, serve cooked seafood and fresh sashimi or sushi. Our dinner has included a sashimi platter, some grills and stews, lobster, prawns and surprisingly ended with a platter of refreshing guava pieces with seeds removed, and chocolate lava cakes filled with overly sweet butterscotch.
