The Dining Room 南小館 - Cheesy Dim Sum

Cheese and custard filled in a xiao long bao? Who are you kidding? The Dining Room has come up with this creative idea, which includes both of my favourite ingredients too! The mozzarella cheese gives a stringy effect whilst the custard brings a sense of sweetness to the mini steaming baos. The deep fried pork leg is seasoned well with chili spices and cumin, which is absolutely flavourful and meaty. As always, I enjoy the signature pan seared buns a lot with a succulent and juicy filling. The shaomai is decorated with a not-so-appetizing green pea, however has a surprising filling of glutinous rice and cured pork. Needless to say, the meal must end with this lovely dessert platter. Even though we aren't able to get the deep fried sesame pomelo balls (which often only available during daytime), I still enjoy a lot with the silky green tea jasmine milk pudding and the chewy mochi cake topped with osmanthus honey.
