Lab Made Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Laboratory - Ice Cream

It has been a long time since my last visit to Lab Made. Their menu is rotating constantly while I am still investigating on my favourite flavor from them. Apart from their signature HK Crispy Toast, I think Tiramisu will be the next best choice. 
Tiramisu liquid nitrogen ice cream with a dusting of cocoa powder, presents an intense coffee flavor contrasting with Kahlua (a coffee liqueur); whereas the Salted Caramel Chocolate Crisps topped with a chocolate dipped potato chip has a combination of sweet & salty, creamy & crunchy. If I have to choose between the two, I would probably go for Salted Caramel with Chocolate Crisps next time!

Fung Shing Restaurant 鳳城酒家 - Dinner

A very simple yet traditional Guangdong dinner for a friend gathering. I am pretty impressed with their signature shrimp toasts and baked sago pudding, which both have been decently presented at our table and especially love the eggy custard pudding pairing with a sweet lotus paste. However, I can see a lot of room for improvement in their services as most of the staff are neither polite nor friendly at all.
All in all, for a good bargain Guangdong dinner, Fung Shing would be a good choice.

Pak Loh Chiu Chow Restaurant 百樂潮州酒樓 - Dinner

Pak Loh Chiu Chow is an oldish in Hong Kong serving genuine Teochew cuisine. They have a long history offering traditional Chiu Chow dishes, from dim sum, authentic marinated food and high-quality dishes.
It is a great experience tonight to savor and enjoy their seafood dishes including Chiu Chow cold crab, stewed shark fins, braised eel and also my favourite - egg noodle served with sugar and dark vinegar. The crystal mochi stuffed with red bean and lotus paste have been excelled in well sweetness.

Hugo's 希戈餐廳 - Birthday Lunch

Hugo's is a fine dining French restaurant, allocated in Hyatt Regency Hotel. They offer classic European cuisines cooked by top Chefs. Their signatures include the caesar salad, lobster bisque and roasted US rib of beef, which is served from the Silver Carving Wagon by the Chef. For lunch, we have a 3-course meal with appetizers and desserts selection from the trolleys. The trolley is so oddie, classy but historical. I really enjoyed the fatty smoked salmon and crab meat & fennel salad. Fish of the Day is pan fried ocean trout and the steamed sea bass has been plated like an art piece. The most enjoyable part is definitely the dessert trolleys with array of pastries, cakes and even cheeses. My top favourites are the opera cake and mille feuille. Service are very impressive and warming too.
For a wonderful ending, Hugo's has prepared me a birthday surprise! Thank you <3

Patisserie Yamakawa - Birthday Treat

Patisserie Yamakawa pastries are never disappointing and are stunning in appearance too! The Matcha pudding is in fact a green tea version of a creme caramel, silky, smooth and bittersweet with a layer of burnt caramel syrup at the bottom. Tiramisu has too much cream and I wish they would adjust to a higher ratio of mascarpone cheese. The new cake, Apple & Almond, is a scrumptious one that is coated with a perfect layer of slivered almonds and topped with candied apple slices. The most enjoyable one must be this mixed berries tart with a nice pastry case made with almond frangipane, a layer of vanilla pastry cream and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
I feel so loved, blessed and absolutely spoiled with these pre birthday treats from my parents.

Ho Hung Kee 何洪記 - Dinner

Ho Hung Kee has been on the Michelin recommendation list for 3 years. As part of the Tasty Congee Co., it is not surprising to find exactly the same food on their menus. For our simple dinner, my mom and I order a steamed rice roll with fried dough stick, I am pleased because they served it not only with basic sweet paste and sesame paste, but also a hot, mini jar of sweet soy sauce! The fried dough stick is still crispy on the edges and is wrapped with the perfect thinness of rice roll. We deliberately ask for only beef tendon instead of brisket, which is cooked super tender in a flavorful Chu Hau sauce, sitting on a bed of fresh green Choi Sum. At last, the spinefoot is served separately with the warm congee highlighted with dried tangerine peels, very fragrant and comforting.

Yun Yan 雲陽 - Dinner

Yun Yan is under the Mira Dining Group. It has been recommended throughout the past few years and currently by Michelin Guide 2015. They offer authentic Sichuan cuisines which combines hot, chili, spicy and sour too. Dining at this comforting ambiance with all these Sichuan cooking surely evoke a spicy hot and fragrant day. 
I really enjoy the complimentary spiced popcorn that is served at every table. For a seasonal special, the deep fried souffle-like balls stuffed with hairy crab roe are a remarkable one, especially when they give you dark vinegar in plastic pipettes. Both the sesame cake and sizzling dumplings are piping hot and crispy. And of course, the signature dish of soybean crumbs with fish slices are not disappointing with hint of hot chili in it.
