2/3 Dolci - Dessert

A nice head start of my reading week with a sweet indulge. This afternoon I come to this amazingly comfy cafe with mommy, where we previously tasted an impressive caramel chiffon cake, for an afternoon treats. From the display table, among the small amount of savouries but a lot of tempting patisseries and bakeries, we order this mille feuille. The crispy puff pastries have a slight caramelization, which is a smart technique to prevent them getting soggy. These layers are assembled between a silky-smooth vanilla pastry cream, and I can tell how generous they are with the vanilla pods and also a high egg yolks-to-milk ratio. The fresh berries on top have given a fancy presentation overall. 
The made-to-order dessert cup is my favourite part. In the golden waffle cup, it is their signature pistachio (and guava) gelato that is probably one of the best in town with intense nutty aroma; topped with their homemade pistachio egg white croutons, mini meringues and crunchy honeycomb, it is absolutely divine. One thing to criticize or to suggest is to add pinch of cinnamon when making the waffle cup.
