The Mandarin Cake Shop - Mooncake

Every year around the Mid Autumn Festival, my mom always go home with a hamper from Mandarin Oriental. It contains some seasonal fresh fruits and a white lotus mooncake with two yolks gift box. The mooncakes are packaged beautifully by the Mandarin Cake shop and made with high quality ingredients.
The lotus filling is not rich enough and the salted egg yolk doesn't show an oily runny effect. However, this mini sized mooncake is perfect for sharing among 2 to 3 peoples. Or perhaps I'll take an entire one myself :)

Tung Po 東寶小館 - Dinner

The last time I was here was about two to three years ago. I didn't enjoy much due to the noisy and crowded environment. Nevertheless, the food here are so unexpectedly delightful, and today, I would appreciate one of these heritages in Hong Kong - Dai pai dong.
The steamed mantis shrimp is fully filled with roe and served cold. The deep fried bombay duck is succulent yet I still prefer the one prepared by Lou Kei at Macau. The baked lotus leaf rice is a must-have here which has been made to perfection. And I can't deny that I'm so fond of herbal jelly after my recent visit to Kei Kee, but the one served here is even better with that gingery after taste!

Koi Kei Bakery 鉅記 - Dessert

The most popular souvenirs shop at Macau must be Koi Kei Bakery and Chui Heung Yuen. The only difference between them is that Koi Kei is the root of peanut candy and ginger candy, whilst Chui Heung Yuen is almond cookies. Although they are now selling similar products at their local bakeries, I personally think Chui Heung Yuen has better almond cookies.
One of my favourite products from Koi Kei must be these ginger cookies. It is a new product of the same texture as traditional almond cookies, and have a strong aftertaste of ginger.

Macau @ MGM 2014

For this visit to Macau, I didn't go for any hotel buffet like Belcancao @ Four Season Hotel or afternoon tea at Palm @ Galaxy Macau. And apart from some famous crab congee at Seng Choeng and Ngao Keo, I went to a new traditional restaurant Lou Kei and also revisited Yee Shun. Some fine dinings at Beijing Kitchen and Imperial Court are also spot on!
This holiday at Macau we stayed at MGM Macau. It is quite a new hotel with theme of lion and "under the sea". There is a large tank with many fishes at the Grande Praca, a French cafe, a buffet restaurant and a cafe patisserie. You'll also find an ice cream truck nearby selling MGM homemade ice creams! It smells cinnamony <3

Dessert and Frozen Treat @ Red Mango:

Green tea frozen yogurt with kiwi and blueberries

Lychee and peach panna cotta

Breakfast @ Square Eight:

Sandwiches with choice of egg, cheese and tuna served with French fries

Beijing Kitchen 滿堂彩 - Lunch

I have been looking forward to this Peking duck meal at Grand Hyatt Macau @ COD - City of Dream. It is known to be prepared in a traditional way roasted in wood fire oven. The duck is served in three styles with meat, skin and meat with skin on. Also, the pan seared dumplings are juicy and the yam cake paired with blueberry sauce from the appetizer platter is succulent.
Unfortunately, we don't have the chance to give the dessert platter a try but for sure they have amazing desserts from the a la carte menu. Please don't miss them!

Albergue 1601 - Dinner

Albergue 1601 is a very authentic restaurant serving traditional Portuguese foods. You will find a lot of outstanding dishes from appetizers, soup, to stew, meats and finally desserts. I really enjoy their first basket of complimentary french style rolls and so disappointed to know that having additional refill will charge you extra. The soup was supposed to be in the style of bisque but turned out not, yet still full of the freshness from seafoods. Oxtail stew was cooked tender and the cabbage rolls were authentically excelled with salted codfish. The pork ribs had hint of white wine and their signature suckling pigs were stunning. Last but not least, their serradura and coconut creme brulee were the best to end up our meal.

Lou Kei Hoi Sin 老記海鮮粥麵菜館 - Dinner

In Macau, you will easily find restaurants that will open until midnight. And Lou Kei is one of those very traditional old style restaurants with all those seafoods dishes, congee, fried noodles, tossed noodle with shrimp roe etc.  After enjoying a night music concert with my parents at Galaxy Macau, we came here for a late night meal.
Their congees are cooked without a taste of MSG. The deep fried bombay duck are made to perfection with the salt and pepper, and personally like dipping them in vinegar or my hot congee.

Imperial Court 金殿堂 - Lunch

I am so obsessed with Chinese dining recently after my fine dinner at Yee Tung Heen. All the delicate dim sums are just perfect enough to nibble on. Not too full but flavorful. To start of this Macau trip, we have our first lunch at this Chinese restaurant at MGM Macau. The environment is classic and comfortable.
